Biographical Information

Mr. Pappas was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA.  After graduating with honors from Stanford University in 1981, Mr. Pappas received his Juris Doctor in 1984 from Boalt School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.  He then worked several years as an associate at one of Seattle's largest law firms, before starting a solo practice in Seattle.  Mr. Pappas returned to the Bay Area in 1993, acting as co-counsel representing Mr. Freeman in the insurance bad faith case of  West America Insurance Company v. Freeman, in which the Mr. Freeman received a $13.3 million verdict which was later affirmed on appeal.  Mr. Pappas founded his solo practice in Palo Alto in 1994.

Mr. Pappas is a Director of the Palo Alto Area Bar Association and the Chair of its Solo and Small Firm Practice Group, and a member of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and the Palo Alto Kiwanis Club.  He is a youth soccer coach, flyfisherman, hiker, cross-country skier, and finger-style guitarist.  Mr. Pappas is the 2007-2008 Attorney Coach for the Palo Alto High School Mock Trial Team, Santa Clara County Champion and 9th in State.
